Beautiful Feathers

The Adore collection line is all about love. What do you love? When you think of the word “love” what comes to mind? For me love and inspiration go hand in hand. I love feeling inspired. I love all things creative. And I love finding inspiration through art journaling and collecting meaningful ephemera—or in this case, when my husband gives me keepsakes to add to my ever-growing inspiration board.

For those of you who don’t know me personally, my husband loves to run. He runs every day, rain or snow, he runs. Every so often if I’m lucky, he returns with a beautiful feather. He tells me, “add this to your collection of inspiration….I know you’ll do something creative with it!” Of course, I add all these cute little findings to my collection and save them for the right moment.

Sometimes I create pieces of jewelry centered on these findings. I came up with the necklace “Light as a Feather” because of these beautiful feathers.

How do you find inspiration in the little things in life? Do you keep an inspiration board or a “treasure” box full of inspiring items? With love and inspiration on my mind, I’d like to challenge you to creating something artistic today. It can be anything. All I ask is that you incorporate the theme love. Here is an example of my artistic challenge in action. I created an art journal page based on the word love.

Trendovy Blog is Up and Running!

Hey everyone! Welcome to the Trendovy blog. Starting this jewelry business and blog has been a long time coming. I’ve had the name “Trendovy” brewing in my head for over 5 years. Finally, the timing to launch the business seemed perfect. Thanks to the help of my amazing husband for setting up the website and Facebook page, we have officially gone live. The response has been overwhelming. I am super excited to be doing what I love—designing jewelry and being creative on a daily basis.

With this blog I hope to motivate woman to live a creative, inspired life. I will be sharing my journey as a business owner, all things that inspire me, posting about my love for art journaling–how I use it to design my jewelry collections and gain inspiration.

So how did I start making jewelry anyways? Well, I was in the 5th grade when a friend of mine mentioned she liked beading. Right then and there, I knew I needed to explore all things jewelry. I went to my first beadstore, probably that same night, and stocked up on all the beads and jewels that caught my eye. From then on I taught myself how to make jewelry. I made pieces for friends and family. It wasn’t until high school that I started selling my jewelry at a local boutique in Montana. Later in college, I began selling at boutiques and local craft fairs in Arizona. It’s there that I earned my BA in Studio Art with a three-dimensional emphasis and business management.

Years later, having spent time studying under several professionals in the field of jewelry I have finally grown to a point where I can begin to release the collections I’ve been designing all these years. I hope you join me on this journey as I transform the concepts I’ve envisioned into helping woman look and feel beautiful by accessorizing and living an inspired life.
